# Errors

The standard error response format is:

```json
{
    "errors": [
        {
            "code": "error_code",
            "message": "Error message"
        }
    ]
}
```

The response is an array of errors, in which every one of them consists of a unique error code that will identify the problem, and a message with a brief description of the cause.

Note that some endpoints return alternative error shapes. Consumers should handle all of the following formats:

* `{ "errors": [{ "code": "...", "message": "..." }] }` — standard format (most endpoints)
* `{ "error": "..." }` — singular error string (e.g., sign-in, KYB endpoints)
* `{ "errors": ["string message"] }` — array of plain strings without a `code` field (e.g., user registration)
* `{ "message": "..." }` — informational response without an `errors` key (e.g., VIBAN under review)
